Support
Terrama collaborates with projects dedicated to promoting sustainable development in various regions around the world. In line with this commitment, we dedicate a portion of the proceeds from sales of our t-shirts to support international organizations that actively work to achieve these fundamental goals.
Therefore, we believe that more information, more education and awareness on this topic makes it possible to contribute to the creation of a more balanced and preserved world.
TERRAMA STANDS UP FOR AMAZON WATCH
Terrama's support for Amazon Watch results from a common idea, that it is necessary to create synergies between organizations committed to sustainability and environmental preservation, which bring to fruition policies to protect the tropical forest, in this case the Amazon, and which can also result in a positive impact for the entire Planet.
Our mission is to alert the community to the problems related to the destruction of tropical forests, inform about the work process underway at the moment and support organizations that work to defend the rights of indigenous peoples who are in danger. We grant sponsorships to organizations that identify the root causes of problems and address the issues with a commitment to driving long-term change. Our financial support is intended for organizations that create a solid base of citizen support.
Amazon Watch's mission is to protect the rainforest and climate in solidarity with indigenous peoples. Amazon Watch is a nonprofit organization founded in 1996 to protect the rainforest and promote the rights of indigenous peoples in the Amazon Basin. We collaborate with indigenous and environmental organizations to campaign for human rights, corporate responsibility and the preservation of Amazon ecological systems.
AMAZON WATCH
Since 1996, Amazon Watch has protected the Amazon rainforest and promoted the rights of indigenous peoples in the Amazon Basin. Amazon Watch works in solidarity with indigenous and environmental organizations, campaigning for human rights, corporate responsibility and the preservation of Amazon ecological systems.
The Amazon is at a tipping point - more than 20% has already been deforested, and fossil fuel extraction, mining, land grabbing and other destructive developments are causing even more deforestation. Amazon Watch protects millions of hectares of rainforest every year by joining indigenous peoples to directly challenge the corporate and government powers that threaten the Amazon and our global climate, with the goal of keeping fossil fuels in the ground, stop investment in the destruction of the Amazon and confront destructive industrial development and resource extraction.
Amazon Watch supports and promotes indigenous-led alternative solutions to climate issues, natural resource extraction, and industrial development. The traditional knowledge, cultures and practices of indigenous peoples contribute significantly to the equitable management of the Amazon. Some of these solutions, such as sustainable development and autonomous solar energy, allow expanding the capacity of indigenous leaders, especially women, to maintain their sovereignty in managing their territories.
Amazon Watch also distributes a third of its budget directly to indigenous peoples as solidarity funding for their solutions, movements and resistance.
