Activism

Terrama collaborates with projects dedicated to promoting sustainable development in various regions around the world. In line with this commitment, we dedicate a portion of the proceeds from sales of our t-shirts to support international organizations that actively work to achieve these fundamental goals.

Therefore, we believe that more information, more education and awareness on this topic makes it possible to contribute to the creation of a more balanced and preserved world.

TERRAMA STANDS UP FOR AMAZON WATCH

The partnership between Terrama and Amazon Watch is an inspiring example of how collaboration between organizations committed to sustainability and environmental preservation can result in a significant positive impact. Together, these organizations have the potential to create synergies that benefit not only the Amazon, but the entire planet.

Our mission is to alert the community to the problems related to the destruction of tropical forests, inform about the work process underway at the moment and support organizations that work to defend the rights of indigenous peoples who are in danger. We award grants to organizations that identify the root causes of problems and address the issues with a commitment to driving long-term change. Our financial support is intended for organizations that create a solid base of citizen support.

AMAZON WATCH

Since 1996, Amazon Watch has protected the Amazon rainforest and promoted the rights of indigenous peoples in the Amazon Basin. Amazon Watch works in solidarity with indigenous and environmental organizations, campaigning for human rights, corporate responsibility and the preservation of Amazon ecological systems.

The Amazon is at a tipping point - more than 20% has already been deforested, and fossil fuel extraction, mining, land grabbing and other destructive developments are causing even more deforestation. Amazon Watch protects millions of hectares of rainforest every year by joining indigenous peoples to directly challenge the corporate and government powers that threaten the Amazon and our global climate, with the goal of keeping fossil fuels in the ground, stop investment in the destruction of the Amazon and confront destructive industrial development and resource extraction.

Amazon Watch supports and promotes indigenous-led alternative solutions to climate issues, natural resource extraction, and industrial development. The traditional knowledge, cultures and practices of indigenous peoples contribute significantly to the equitable management of the Amazon. Some of these solutions, such as sustainable development and autonomous solar energy, allow expanding the capacity of indigenous leaders, especially women, to maintain their sovereignty in managing their territories.

Amazon Watch also distributes a third of its budget directly to indigenous peoples as solidarity funding for their solutions, movements and resistance.
